Does Dao (Denmark) Deliver on Sundays [2026-2027]
Yes, dao (Dansk Avis Omdeling) delivers on Sundays across Denmark. Unlike many European courier services that operate strictly on weekday schedules, dao functions on a 365-day operational model. Built upon Denmark’s early-morning newspaper and magazine distribution infrastructure, dao delivers every day of the week, including weekends and public holidays.
E-commerce orders and consumer parcel shipments routed through dao move through sorting terminals over the weekend, making Sunday a standard, fully active delivery day rather than an exception or premium upgrade.
Home Delivery, daoSHOP (Parcel Shops)
Dao provides two primary domestic delivery channels: direct home delivery (daoHOME) and parcel shop pick-up (daoSHOP). Home delivery occurs primarily during the night and early morning hours. Couriers deliver parcels quietly without ringing doorbells, placing orders securely into mailboxes or inside specialized protective weather bags hung directly on front door handles before breakfast.
For customers choosing pick-up, dao operates a nationwide network of over 1,300 daoSHOP locations embedded within local supermarkets, kiosks, and convenience stores. While dao actively distributes parcels to daoSHOP locations on Sundays, collection depends on each partner retailer’s Sunday opening hours. Recipients receive a digital collection code via SMS or email as soon as the package is checked in and ready for retrieval.
FAQs About Delivery Time, and Cost by dao
Delivery speed with dao is exceptionally fast across mainland Denmark and bridge-connected islands. Standard domestic shipments typically arrive within 24 to 48 hours, often delivering the very next morning when items are dispatched before daily evening cut-offs. Pricing is competitive and straightforward: small parcel shipments between daoSHOP points start around 40 to 45 DKK, while home delivery options typically start from roughly 45 to 55 DKK depending on weight and volume.
